CNC Mini-Slide: A compact solution for high-performance precision machining

In the world of precision mechanics, technological evolution is not just about power and complexity—it is also about space optimization and delivering advanced functionality in compact formats. That’s the philosophy behind Autor’s CNC Mini-Slide: a solution specifically designed for multi-spindle lathes with restricted tooling areas, where maximum functionality in tight spaces makes all the difference.

The CNC Mini-slide is a compact version of the traditional CNC cross-slide, designed to provide the same capabilities—versatility and precision—while fitting perfectly into production setups with restricted space.

Operational advantages of using Autor’s CNC Mini Slide

  • Seamless integration with multi-spindle lathes in confined spaces
  • Customized installation for each machine, no structural modifications required
  • Flexibility in all machining, machining options—internal, external, and threading operations
  • Compatible with standard commercial tools, avoiding the need for custom profiles and reducing tooling costs
  • Superior surface finish quality thanks to full programmability of depth of cut and feed rate
  • Optional integration of Macro Chip-breaker technology

With the CNC Mini-Slide, there is no need to replace your entire system to perform complex operations. Instead, you can upgrade your existing machine fleet with an intelligent, compact, and versatile accessory.

CNC Mini-slide vs. CNC Cross-slide: which one should you choose?

Both the Mini Slide and the standard CNC Cross Slide feature a 2-axis interpolated CNC architecture (X and Z) with 1 µm resolution – that ensures high-performance and precise machining on materials of different toughness – standard ISO programming, and compatibility with advanced CNC systems such as NUM Flexium Plus.

The Mini Slide, however, stands out for its lighter and more compact structure, with a reduced stroke (25 mm on X and 40 mm on Z), making it ideal for quick, precise operations in tight spaces setups. It is the right choice when you need a streamlined and functional solution.

The CNC Cross Slide, on the other hand, delivers greater axial force (2940 N) and a longer stroke on both axes. It is better suited for high-load applications, more demanding and heavy-duty operations, and for manufacturers seeking maximum power and versatility, such as in the automotive sector or advanced general mechanics.
